Sony removes Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today that it will remove Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Project Red from its online PlayStation Store, and also announced that it will offer full refunds to those who have already purchased the game. has created a website where customers can register to submit their refund request. Once it is confirmed that you purchased the game from PlayStation Store, you should get your refund.

However, this may be difficult at the moment as the company is CD Project Red released Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10 on Windows 10, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The game was initially announced in 2012, but the release date was set for April 16. 2020, which was finally delayed to September 17, then November 19, and finally December 10. Since its launch, users have complained about excessive problems on multiple platforms, but most notably on the two home consoles.

PlayStation and Xbox owners faced poor performance, with frame rates often dropping below 30 and even 20 fps during gameplay, as well as glitches that would send them to the console's home screen. Performance is particularly poor on the base PS4 and Xbox One S, although the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are not significantly better. The game also turned out to be inherently flawed, with glitches throughout the game world that can cause characters to behave unexpectedly, making it difficult to play even if you ignore the other issues Running performance issues was playing a PS5 or an Xbox Series X | S can brutally force the game to run better, but that still wouldn't solve the crash and game code issues.

Note that the game does not currently have a dedicated version for the next generation consoles and backwards compatibility for playing the PS4 and Xbox One versions. , the PC version is relatively well positioned by comparison. While the game has extreme CPU and GPU requirements well in excess of the company's stated system requirements and game code issues, if you have a high-end gaming PC, you can at least enjoy playable frame rates.

When users are first Times complained about the issues with the game, CDPR released a statement to Dece Nov. 14 apologizing for the situation on the consoles, stating that they will soon be releasing minor updates and then major patches first in January and later in February. They also asked players on PlayStation and Xbox to refund the game if they were not satisfied. Follow SHE posted a statement today that they are removing the game from store until further notice and that players who have already purchased it can request a full refund.

That statement was later followed by one from CDPR stating you can still do it If you buy the physical copy through other stores, anyone who still has the game will continue to get updates. This is the first time Sony has had to remove an AAA title from its PlayStation Store due to issues with the game. We have seen situations in the past, like the PC release of Batman Arkham Knight, where the developer pulled the title due to startup issues, but rarely had the platform owner step in and unplug.

This gives us an idea of the amount of complaints the company must have received over the course of the week, as well as the severity of the issues in question. It wouldn't be in Sony's best interests at all to have a major title in its business that does so badly, even if it is an outgoing model. At this point in time, Microsoft has no explanation of the status of the game in his online store, however, you can still request a refund on Xbox if you're not satisfied.

On a personal note, as someone who's been in the game for 30 hours, I mostly have mixed feelings after achieving what seems halfway through the main story (I’d have a lot more thoughts on the game by the time I finished my playthrough.
